Ive been carp fishing since i was 15 and im now 47. In that time ive owned and tried out many rods. I used the excellent infinity originals in both 2.75 and 3.5 and also freespirit xs-ives. All good however I always thought they had negatives. The 2.75 infins were lacking backbone for fishing over 120 whilst the 3.5 infins were great for casting but brutish players. The same applied to the xs-ives. I believed there was no such thing as an all round rod and kept two sets, 2.75 and 3.5 to meet all requirements - Then i read about the TE specials. I spoke to Kev who builds thenm at the harrison factory who luckily fished the same lake as me and finally I ordered 3 custom built TE,s. 50mm kigen rings full jap shrink handles and DPS 18mm seats. Stunning Ive used then now since March 2009 - I started off on a lake fishing the far margins at 130 yards with 4oz leads, the cast was easily comparable to the xs-ives id traded in. In June I moved to a large deep mere fishing at short ranges of 10-25 yards, I caught 29 carp with 11 over 20 and 2 mid 30,s. The rods played the fish beautifully and I never felt I had to go easy too on the fish. No hook pulls occured close in. In my opinion these are the ulimate all round rod, they cast they bend with a fish on and they look superb, highly recommended

In reply...........................
I also have the T.e's after fishing for many years with many rods. I can honestly say they are the nicest rods i have had. I am not the kind of guy to say something is great if i have made a mistake, i would simply sell them on and get something else. The only problem i found was that my infinties felt loose on the rod. Took the but sections up to bob at fosters and had the seats changed for DPS 20's and all is well with the world. Price wise they are at the top end but i managed to pick mine up second hand for less than half there full price.
Sandman........
Dont know where you have picked up that bit of info. Can safely say mine are still performing as well as ever and i have noticed no difference, mine are into the age of your comments.
Bob at fosters raves about these blanks and he really does know his stuff. He was telling me how fabulous the blanks are and as i already have them he wasn't trying to sell me anything! |

I have the same rods built by the same chap - and by looking at the pics the same opinion of the ghastly Harrison logo - I got it left off mine as well.
I had a chuck with a set at a casting demo about 4 months before I got mine, the rods we used there were a fairly old set and had not gone soft in the tip at all. Ballistas and Chimeras go soft in the tip but the Torrix is made form different carbon cloths - suposedly lol.

Have been looking to get a set of Torrix's as I've been using different sets of rods for different situations also. Not been able to decide between the 12' 3.25 t/c or the 12' 6" 3.5 t/c TE reveiwed.
Cheers for the reveiw, have now made my mind up.
Just need to sell my 2.75 t/c Prodigy's, 3.00 t/c Pursuit's and 3.25 infinity's now to pay for them!! |

| As before said, I've had a few rods in my time and I went for the Torrix in 3lb t/c. I also had Bob at Fosters make them for me and can't see me having to change these rods for many years. The playing action is superb. |

| all or most of harrison blanks were known for loosing their original test curve after a while,i had a set of em but cant recall what they were called, around the same time of the chimeras? after 2 years they ad to go! however ive been told by a few torrix owners that theirs have gone the same way.. tbh i dunno if any rod can be made to last a lifetime of abuse, even sum of my old 80s match rods creak when playing a goodun! i know yabba will av summink to say about torrix as hes got 2 sets i think? he loves em and wont budge.good enuff for me |

| They are labled as 3.25lb but all the rod builders I spoke to about them - including the one form Harrison who built mine said they are about 3lb 6oz so half way between a 3.25 and a 3.5 |

Hey James, Do you have a crane to get your rods to the lake?
I found them very heavy rods for Harrison... |

| You cant have been looking very hard! If you google the name numerous stockists and their prices will come up. As a ball park figure look at £250-260 each. |
