Seen topic on gas cartridges.

But was thinking, i actually dont like my fishing stove lil square one which takes small cans on the side. get em 10 quid most places.

problem is flame always going out, gas always running out.

so whats the one everyone is using and is happy with?

I have two of them, but im thinking of incesting in one of those dual, or triple burners for longer trips. The one i have at the moment is one of those trakker ones, there utter crap if i do say so myself, there a slight hole in my hose and it alwasy seems to catch alight which is interesting... The one i had befroe that was a small one from the campin shop, cos about 17 quid for teh top and screwed onto a cartridge but i didnt like it as there wasnt much surface area for a pan..

My seccond stove is the same as you, and i llove it, heast water up really fast, and i havent had to many problems yet, and the gas is cheap! If you get it in the right places, but the ones i use are the square one for my main cooking, and the little trakker one for drinks and things

After over twenty years of using Coleman petrol stoves on a regular basis there are only two things that can cause faults.

1. The generator is blocked of not fitted properly, there is a small clip on the end of an internal wire that clips in to a hole on the adjustment arm.

2 The rubber gromit on the end of the pump arm drys out and dosent make an air tight seal, cut a small plastic disk and add it between the gromit and the plastic disc bewteen the rubber and locking clip, this pushes the rubber gromit out and causes an air tight fit.

It could also be that he is not pumping it properly a full turn anti clockwise on the pumping arm opens the air valve and you need to cover the small hole on the top with your thumb when pushing in and uncovering it when pulling the arm back out, afterwards tighten back up and away you go, if the flame is yellow just pump a few times more.

Agreed Wisey, I have used Colemans for 20 years + and the only problems I have ever had with them are the generators.... just buy a new one and make sure you attach it properly.

Could of been that he over pumped it, or that the generator isnt attached properly there are two screws on the side holding the generator in place just undo them and tighten up the holding bolt.
