Hi all,

I've not been on for a while due to other commitments but I am still getting out once in a while. Because I've not been contributing much recently I feel like I'm using you all by asking this, but, I'm going to anyway!

Does anyone have any recommendations for landing mats? Mine is very tired so I need to upgrade it. Ideally it would be large enough to protect long, large carp, and nice and padded - it would also be great if I could use it to store my landing net and umbrella when going off fishing. Ideally over my shoulder.

What do you reckon?

Cheers

I use a Combi-Mat that ticks the boxes you're talking about Ben. There are D-clips along the leading edge that I've clipped a spare padded shoulder strap from an old quiver onto so I can use it for short sessions. I just pop my kits in the middle, chuck it over my shoulder and I'm off.

Aqua, Avid, Wychwood, Trakker all do what is essentially the same mat. Based on a Cotswold Aquarius mat you've probably seen.

I use the trakker armo mat, although I've not had it long I've been impressed with it.

The cradles a preety good Ben, The JRC xl high care are spot on. Double up as a chair, can whack all your kit inside and then sling it on your shoulder

give army andy a bell, he will custom make you any size and shape you want, the material he uses is excellent, hard wearing and dries out really quick
